Wendy’s is taking shots at the Golden Arches by advertising its $1 Frosty as the go-to sweet treat while the “other guys” struggle with broken ice cream machines. Without mentioning McDonald’s by name, Wendy’s added its locations to a so-called McBroken map that tracks the chain’s malfunctioning ice cream machines.

McDonald’s has become notorious for its broken ice cream machines – there’s even an independent website that monitors broken McFlurry machines. So Wendy’s is taking advantage.

In an icy dig, Wendy’s is offering customers a sweet “fix” to rival McDonald’s broken ice cream machines. Classic Frosty desserts are just a $1 at participating Wendy’s locations nationwide, for a limited time, according to the Ohio-based burger chain. The offer is good through Sept. 30 and no additional purchase is necessary.

Wendy’s is looking to capitalize on McDonald’s ongoing issues with its broken ice cream machines with the promotion of its own frozen dessert: the $1 Frosty.
