If you have an older Samsung Galaxy smartphone, you may want to hold off on the latest software update. 9to5Google reported that the update that has been rolling out from Samsung over the past few days is bricking devices from the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series of phones.

According to posts on Reddit, Samsung replaced the buggy update with a new version that won’t brick the five-year-old devices. (The Galaxy S10 series was released in 2019.) Still, some users recommend staying cautious and turning off auto-updates anyway.

However, owners of older affected phones, namely the Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note 10 series, Galaxy M51, and Galaxy A90, have been unable to power their devices on to roll back the update. Many users who already manually or automatically installed the update are still dealing with bricked devices.
