The Maple Leafs’ First Team has two current stars and one franchise legend. Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, two of today’s premier forwards, join all-time great Mats Sundin. Together, these forwards represent the pinnacle of Maple Leafs’ offensive talent over the past quarter-century.

Now that 2025 is here, the NHL is celebrating the past 25 years by revealing Quarter-Century Teams for each of the League's 32 franchises and the Arizona Coyotes. Each club will be represented by a First Team and Second Team of six players -- three forwards,

The NHL's quarter-century teams continued Saturday with that of the Toronto Maple Leafs. And Toronto's playoff history helped dictate which franchise icons were honored.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman revealed on Friday that the Maple Leafs and GM Brad Treliving may explore bringing back John Klingberg. On December 21st, Friedman reveal on 'Saturday Headlines' that Klingberg was going to resume skating after Christmas in an attempt to return to the NHL after more than 400 days.
