The president’s dinner with golfing leaders, hosted at his club, comes as the global economic order reels from Trump’s tariffs announcement.

Trump has appeared at two of the three LIV events at Doral and participated in the Pro-Am. This would be his first appearance as president.

Per ESPN's Mark Schlabach, the PGA Tour recently rejected a $1.5 billion investment offer from the Saudi Public Investment Fund. Schlabach noted a key divide between the parties right now is that the PGA Tour wants one premier golf circuit, while the Saudi PIF wants to keep LIV Golf intact in any potential deal.

It's been almost two years since the PGA Tour and PIF signed a framework agreement to reunify the sport, but the two sides aren't much closer to a merger today than they were in 2023.
