Bryan Kohberger's attorneys are asking Judge Steve Hippler to toss out not only the DNA evidence in the Idaho students murder case, but nearly all of the evidence collected.

Bryan Kohberger's public defender, Anne Taylor, argued that the manner in which the FBI collected her client's DNA violated his privacy.

The hearing is expected to go for most of the day Thursday, with some portions closed to the public. A big topic up for discussion will be the use of investigative genetic genealogy.

Kohberger is accused of murdering four University of Idaho students in November 2022. Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty if he is convicted.
