Netflix subscribers were eagerly awaiting the release of the new docuseries American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden, but the March 10 premiere didn’t happen, leaving many questioning the reason for the delay and when it will be available to stream.

On May 2, 2011, President Obama and his top officials watched on as Seal Team 6 invaded bin Laden’s compound in Abottabad, Pakistan, and fatally shot him. No Americans were lost in the mission. As Rob O’Neill of Seal Team 6 says in the doc, “We accepted death on this mission but it’s nice to live,” per Time.

On June 15, 2011, U.S. federal prosecutors formally dismissed all criminal charges against Bin Laden. It was widely circulated that the extremist was fatally injured by US Navy Seal Robert J. O'Neill, however, this was largely debunked by witnesses who suggested Osama may have already been dead prior to Robert's arrival.

Netflix has pulled the third American Manhunt docu-series from its schedule after initially being set for a March 10th release. A new release date has yet to be set, although we’re informed it’s still on the way.

In the summer of 2010, there was a breakthrough moment when the US traced Abu Ahmed to a town in Pakistan called Peshawar, and they could pick up a phone call.
