The Bruins return home after letting a valuable point slip away Saturday in Ottawa as they let a two-goal lead slip away in the final four minutes of regulation before losing in a shootout, 6-5.

Charlie Coyle scored a pair of third-period goals, stealing the spotlight from fellow Boston University product Macklin Celebrini in his first game back at the TD Garden as an NHLer and leading the Bruins to a 6-3 victory over San Jose on Monday. It was Boston's 14th straight victory over the Sharks.

Tom McVie, who coached the Winnipeg Jets to the 1979 World Hockey Association championship before moving on to a head-coaching career in the NHL with the Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils, died at the age of 89.

Back-to-back divisional wins following their 0-5-1 skid have helped the Bruins take a one-point lead for the final wild-card spot in the East, though the Senators have two games in hand.
