Lakers guard Austin Reaves was sidelined by right calf soreness in the first half of their game against the Clippers on Friday night, and sources told ESPN he will undergo an MRI.

Reaves is eligible to sign an extension with the Lakers on July 6 of this year. However, Jovan Buha of The Athletic predicted on Monday, March 3, that Reaves will decline that offer, opt out in the summer of 2026 and test the free agent market.

On Saturday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Reaves underwent an MRI for his calf injury, and the results showed no sign of serious injury. The Wichita State product is considered day-to-day, although his status for Sunday's rematch against the Clippers is "uncertain," per Charania.

Reaves was unable to return against the Lakers' inner-city rival, playing in just nine minutes of action. This injury also kept the former Oklahoma guard out for Sunday's 108-102 win over the Clippers, only his sixth missed game of the 2024-25 NBA season.
