Football Australia has appointed former Asian Champions League winning manager Tony Popovic as the new head coach of the Australian men’s team until the end of the 2026 World Cup.

Former Crystal Palace defender Tony Popovic has been appointed head coach of Australia through to the end of the 2026 World Cup. Popovic, 51, replaces former incumbent Greg Arnold, who resigned last week after six years in charge.

Tony Popovic was named as the new coach of Australia on Monday, three days after the shock resignation of Graham Arnold in the wake of the team's poor start to the third round of Asian qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.
