Hurricane Milton cut a scar of damage across Central Florida after making landfall Wednesday, ripping off roofs from coast to coast, including one over the Tropicana Field baseball stadium in St. Petersburg.

At least 17 people in Florida have died due to Hurricane Milton, according to confirmed reports across the state. Six of those deaths were in St. Lucie County. Sheriff Keith Pearson confirmed initial deaths after tornadoes ripped through Spanish Lakes County Club Village and other areas near Lakewood Park in northern Fort Pierce.

At least three people have died during cleanup efforts as locals return to storm-ravaged parts of Florida to dig out from under Hurricane Milton.
