ROCKWALL – A man is in custody following Friday's attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl who was walking home after getting off a school bus. Brian Calder, 21, has been charged with attempted kidnapping, according to the Rockwall Police Department.

A man is accused of trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl Friday in Rockwall, police say. Brian Douglas Calder, 21, was booked into the Rockwall County jail on Friday and faces an attempted kidnapping charge, according to online jail records.

Police said the girl got off the school bus and was walking home when several witnesses saw the suspect grab her by her backpack.
