Shein's lawyer dodged questions about the use of Xinjiang cotton and alleged forced labor and child labor in its supply chain during a hearing held by the U.K. parliament's Business and Trade Committee earlier this week.

A British politician said he had “almost zero confidence” in the integrity of Shein’s supply chain following a heated exchange with a representative of the fast-fashion retailer in London.

A Shein representative declined to provide a direct answer when asked by a British parliamentary committee on Tuesday whether the online fast-fashion retailer uses cotton from China, a key issue for potential investors concerned about its supply chain.
