A man is facing gun and drug charges in connection with a crash that caused significant damage to a nursery school in Boston on Wednesday night, authorities said.

Officers who discovered a vehicle that crashed into a Dorchester nursery school later arrested the unlicensed driver on firearm and drug-related charges, according to the Boston Police Department.

After the crash, officers found that the driver was carrying a pistol and four plastic bags of cocaine, police said.

A Dorchester man accused of slamming his vehicle into a nursery, causing significant damage to the building, is also facing drug and gun charges, police said. Ronnie Qualls, 53, has been arrested after Wednesday night’s crash into Ashmont Nursery School in Dorchester.
