The Russian captain of a cargo ship that collided with a U.S. tanker earlier this week appeared in a U.K. court Saturday where he was remanded in custody over the death of a crew member, who is missing and presumed dead.

A fire on an oil tanker involved in a crash in the North Sea has gone out, several days after the collision. Container ship Solong struck the Stena Immaculate off the east coast of Yorkshire on Monday morning – after leaving from Grangemouth.

Filipino national Mark Angelo Pernia, 38, died following the collision between Motin’s vessel, the Solong, and the Stena Immaculate.
