After a wild schedule of road games and cross-country flights, the Edmonton Oilers kicked off their six-game home stand against Alex Ovechkin and the red-hot Washington Capitals.

ARLINGTON, Va. – Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson has been named the NHL’s First Star for the week ending Jan. 19, the NHL announced today.

Thompson stopped 30 of 32 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Oilers.

While the Edmonton Oilers were on a rush against the Washington Capitals, a plate of nachos landed on the ice. Oilers vet Corey Perry actually had to avoid them as he got the puck on his stick and buried the one-timer.
