Evidence of progress for the Minnesota Gophers has finally become public. Their loyal star Dawson Garcia has had his fingerprints all over it.

The Minnesota Gophers' Dawson Garcia was named Big Ten Player of the Week, a testament to his impressive play in college basketball.

Garcia had a signature moment with a deep buzzer-beating three to beat No. 20 Michigan and snap the Gophers' losing streak. On Saturday, the fifth-year senior played one of the best games of his career as Minnesota beat another ranked team at home.

The Gophers won a third straight game on Dawson Garcia’s 31 points vs. Oregon. He’s the first U player with five straight 20-point games since Amir Coffey in 2019.

The Gophers (11-9, 3-6 Big Ten) were playing in front of their biggest home crowd of the season, and they fed off their energy as soon as the game tipped off. Minnesota started 10-for-14 shooting from the field and quickly jumped out to a 27-11 lead before giving Oregon (16-4, 5-4) a chance to even settle into the game.

Oregon suffered its first loss away from home this season at Minnesota — the lowest ranked Big Ten team in NET.
