The Trump administration is cracking down on the school over its Israel-Hamas war protests which sparked a movement on campuses around the country last year.

The Trump administration said Friday that it’s pulling $400 million from Columbia University, canceling grants and contracts because of what the government describes as the Ivy League school’s failure to squelch antisemitism on campus.

Columbia University's interim president said the school is working to address the "legitimate concerns" of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration after $400 million of federal government grants and contracts to the university were canceled over allegations of antisemitism on campus.

The share of New Yorkers in poverty is nearly double the national average, according to a report from Columbia University and an anti-poverty group.

The Trump administration announced a dramatic funding cut on Friday, saying it would cut federal grants and contracts worth $400 million from Columbia University for “inaction in the face of persistent harassment of Jewish students.
