Nick Schmaltz’s top-shelf move secured Utah Hockey Club’s first-ever shootout win, capping an eventful game against the Capitals.

Olli Määttä and Juuso Välimäki will represent their home country of Finland as the only Utah Hockey Clubbers selected to participate in the tournament. The tournament will run from Feb. 12-20, after which the league will get right back into action. Utah’s next game will be in Los Angeles on Feb. 22, when they’ll take on the Kings.

Since the Beanpot’s start in 1952, the tournament has put ultimate bragging rights on the line for four of the most prestigious NCAA hockey programs in the Boston area. Utah Hockey Club is one of the only teams in the National Hockey League that has all four Beanpot schools represented on its active roster.
