OpenAI is working to fix an issue that caused major outages in its applications, including ChatGPT. A statement from the artificial intelligence (AI) company, posted on social media platform, X, just after 4 p.m. Thursday, noted "most" of ChatGPT, the API, and Sora were down Thursday afternoon.

A company status page showed ChatGPT and the company’s application programming interface (API) experiencing a “major” outage, while Sora had a “partial” outage. More than 12,000 people reported OpenAI-related in the last 24 hours, according to the monitoring site Downdetector.
