Buffalo Sabres prospects Adam Kleber and Brodie Ziemer helped the United States capture the gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship with a 4-3 overtime victory over Finland on Sunday.

OTTAWA — Teddy Stiga is the overtime hero for the United States at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship in Ottawa, leading them to a 4-3 OT victory over Finland on Sunday evening at the Canadian Tire Centre. Team USA has repeated as champions for the first time in their history at the tournament.

With the World Junior Hockey Championship set to take over downtown St. Paul in December, hockey fans can celebrate Team USA making it to the semifinals of this year's tournament.

For the first time in tournament history, Team USA has won gold at the IIHF World Junior Championship in back-to-back years. Teddy Stiga (NSH) scored the golden goal in overtime off a terrific stretch pass by Zeev Buium (MIN) to clinch a 4-3 victory for the Americans.
