DJI’s Osmo Action 5 Pro is available today starting at $349 / £329 / €379 for the standard combo kit, which includes the horizontal-vertical protective frame, battery, USB-C cable, and a number accessories for mounting and cleaning your new action cam.

Drone maker DJI plans to take on GoPro with its Osmo Action 5’s improved sensor it claims rivals professional cameras.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro has been formally announced. After weeks of leaks and days of delays, we’ve finally got a concrete DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro release date, and info on how to pre order the new high-end action camera. DJI isn’t slowing down as we enter 2024, with the recent release of the DJI Neo and a potential mirrorless camera on the way.

When it comes to rugged reliability, the Osmo Action 5 Pro feels reassuringly well made. The camera itself is small, lightweight (145g) and sturdy, with few protruding parts and a removable, replaceable cover to help prevent damage to the surface of the lens.

The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro features a 13.5-stop dynamic range, 4-hour battery life, and built-in subject tracking.

In the case of sensor size, the two cameras are matched, both sporting a 1/1.3” CMOS sensor. The Ace Pro’s was co-developed by Leica - as were the optics - for a high-quality finish. Though we haven’t got our hands on the Osmo Action 5 Pro, initial reports would suggest similarly excellent low-light performance to the Ace Pro.
