The small town of Charleroi, long defined by its glass industry, is facing a tough blow after a federal court ruled this week that Anchor Hocking can proceed with its plan to shut down operations and move jobs to Ohio.

The decision was confined to the question of whether or not the closure needed to be stopped immediately to prevent causing “irreparable harm.” The judge found that the harms presented could later be undone through monetary compensation.
