Kansas remained atop the first Associated Press men’s college basketball poll of the regular season after winning a matchup of basketball bluebloods.

Kentucky, which faces Gonzaga on Dec. 7 in Seattle, moved up four spots to No. 19. UCLA, GU’s opponent Dec. 28 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, fell out of the rankings and didn’t receive a vote after falling 72-64 to New Mexico. The Bruins were No. 22 in the preseason poll.

For another week, Michigan State basketball is not listed in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 poll. The updated top 25 came out on Monday, and Michigan State was once again on the outside. The Spartans received 41 votes,

Although UW remains unranked in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, it increased its share of votes ever so slightly from the preseason poll. Before the season started, Wisconsin received five voting points. After one week of the college basketball season, the Badgers received six voting points.

Michigan State women's basketball is undefeated to start the season and beating their opponents by an average of 55 points per game. For their efforts, the Spartans are starting to get some votes in the AP poll.
