Actor and filmmaker Aamir Khan has been the Mr Perfectionist of Hindi cinema for more than thirty years but recently revealed that he almost walked away from it all to prioritise his family. He felt that his commitment to the industry had taken a personal toll.

Aamir Khan said he went through an emotional moment where he felt he had given his “whole life to cinema and I've not been there for my family”.

When asked how Kiran Rao reacted to his big decision, Aamir said, "She asked me to come to the balcony to talk alone. She said, 'You are leaving us'. I said, 'No, I am not leaving you, I am leaving films'. She said, 'You are a child of cinema, and if you are leaving films, you are leaving us.'"
