Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and an assist as the league-leading Washington Capitals won their fifth game in a row, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-2 on Tuesday night.

EDMONTON -- Pierre-Luc Dubois had a goal and an assist for the Washington Capitals, who won 3-2 against the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place on Tuesday. Matt Roy and Tom Wilson also scored, and Logan Thompson made 31 saves for the Capitals (32-10-5), who have won five in a row and earned points in 11 straight games (8-0-3).

The Washington Capitals didn't play their best hockey to kick off their road trip against the Edmonton Oilers, but as they've been doing all season, they found a way to get the job done. Logan Thompson shined again between the pipes — and picked up an assist to boot — and Pierre-Luc Dubois stayed hot en route to a 3-2 victory over the Oilers.

But the Capitals were expecting the game to be “a little bit nasty,” as Coach Spencer Carbery put it after his team won, 2-1, in overtime behind two goals from center Pierre-Luc Dubois, who was at the center of the high-emotion proceedings throughout.

The Washington Capitals took a gamble on Pierre-Luc Dubois over the summer. The Capitals struck a trade with the Los Angeles Kings to acquire the former third-overall pick after a disappointing 2023-24 season.
