The Sunday night earthquake was the 14th recorded in South Carolina this year, according to the state Department of Natural Resources.

Then on Sunday, USGS officials said a magnitude 2.7 earthquake centered 3.1 miles east of Elgin, happened at 6:01p.m. Only three people responded to the USGS website asking for people who felt the latest quake.

The United States Geological Survey has confirmed an earthquake in South Carolina on Sunday. According to the USGS, the 2.5 magnitude quake was located 6km east of Elgin, in Kershaw County. The earthquake had a reported depth of 2.3 km and was recorded at 6:01 p.m.
