Verizon cellular customers were taking to the internet and social media on Monday morning to report service issues. Starting around 9:30 a.m. Monday, Verizon outage reports began to spoke on Downdetector.

Thousands of Verizon customers reported widespread outages affecting access to phone calls, text messages and cellular data Monday morning. More than 48,000 customers nationwide were affected by the outage as of 1:19 p.

On Monday, Verizon suffered a massive outage that affected customers across the country. While it’s not clear exactly how many customers were without service, Verizon has more than 114 million customers in the U.

The outage wasn't isolated to one region. DownDetector's map also showed many reports coming from the West Coast, Midwest and Northeast.

Affected customers say their phones are in SOS mode. It comes as the carrier is also battling outages in the Southeast due to Hurricane Helene.
