The House of Lords Commissioners for Standards said the multi-millionaire businessman was being investigated over possible breaches of peers' code of conduct.

Lord Alli’s former partner gave Labour £350,000 in the run-up to the election and previously donated to Sir Keir Starmer. Charlie Parsons, a long-standing backer of Labour, gave the party £100,000 in February 2023, followed by a £250,000 donation a day after Rishi Sunak called the election in May this year.
