The National Hurricane Center is now tracking Tropical Depression 14 in the Gulf as well as Hurricane Kirk and Hurricane Leslie in the Atlantic.

A disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico has formed into a tropical depression, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. Forecasters will begin issuing advisories at 10 a.m. The system will likely bring heavy rains to portions of Mexico over the next day or two and dump rain on Florida late this weekend through mid-week.

Less than 10 days after Hurricane Helene made landfall in Florida, the state is now bracing for another potential storm brewing in the Gulf of Mexico.
