A man arrested in connection with the death of an infant who was found submerged in water in a motel bathroom in Milford over the summer now faces murder charges. Dale Kirkland, 31, of Bridgeport was arrested the day the baby was found unresponsive in the Mayflower Motel on Woodmont Road on Aug.

Court officials say Dale Kirkland, the father charged in connection with the drowning death of an infant at a Milford motel, had his charges upgraded Tuesday.

Charges have been upgraded for a man after a baby found in a Milford motel’s bathtub died in August. Dale Kirkland had previously been charged with risk of injury to a minor and cruelty to persons in connection to the infant’s death.
