World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler says his “stupid” Christmas day injury won’t impact his first competitive tournament of the year at this week’s AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

Scottie Scheffler added more details Tuesday to what happened during his Christmas-dinner-gone-awry, saying that he was lucky he didn’t suffer an even more serious hand injury when a wine glass shattered in his palm.

The top-ranked golfer in the world is back this week and ready to make his season debut at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He said on Tuesday that he and his wife, Meredith, were simply cooking pasta on Christmas when a wine glass broke directly into his hand as he was trying to roll out the pasta.
