Brevard County Emergency Management officials provide updates on what residents should expect as Hurricane Helene approaches the Sunshine State.

Hurricane Helene officially formed late Wednesday morning as it moved closer to Florida and continued to strengthen on its way to Florida’s Panhandle. Local officials cautioned even though the storm will likely hit the other side of the state, it’s expected to bring lots of rain and strong winds to the Space Coast, and preparations need to be made.
