Amarillo's Week 6 high school football slate was action-packed, with three Class 5A programs playing important district matchups over the weekend. A number of other schools in the Texas Panhandle were on a bye this week, but there were still multiple entertaining games throughout the area on Friday night.

McElroy was all over the field in Farwell's win against Friona. The senior rushed four times for 81 yards, caught three passes for 47 yards and scored a rushing and receiving touchdown. On defense, McElroy recorded six tackles, two tackles for loss and an interception return for a touchdown.
