Not accessible due to construction post summer Paris Olympic Games 2024 - you can still see the obelisk but it’s surrounded by podiums. Terrible idea. Full review by og_swifty

You can take a 1 hour walk with a wonderful view: cross the Alexandre III bridge, pass through the Invalides, and walk on the Champs de Mars to the Eiffel Tower. Or just follow the Seine, it is shorter. Or take the metro 8 to Invalides (1 stop), then the RER C to Tour Eiffel (2 stops). Easiest of course with Uber or taxi, it is only 2-3 km.
I photographed female pickpockets tackling two young Asian men at this location. They were using the "Sign a charity petition" distraction. Apparently there is a website for publishing photos of the faces of the Paris pickpockets. I have not been able to find such a site - please provide appropriate links. You will need to use words for dot or at (also space as if it is text) to overcome the censor bot on this site else your link wont get published. The two women engaging the men are well in view in my photo. The lookout woman rushed at me. She is holding her clipboard up to cover her face in the photo. Asians are a top choice for pickpockets because many of the Chinese who travel are wealthy. Most significantly, a large number of Chinese citizens don’t have easy access to credit and debit cards, so they often carry large amounts of cash, and thieves know this.
