I’m currently looking to make the move to an AV set up and speakers for Atmos and PS5 gaming and am currently drawn between this unit and the Denon AVR-2700H. I’m moving from a Yamaha YSP-2500 soundbar which was decent without ever blowing me away.

The only connection that allows this device is the basic with two cables, but the RX-V6A only can be done by RCA. I bought a connector to transform the two cables in one RCA, but it doesn't work. Nothing sounds.

WEBMay 17, 2021 · I have the quite recent Yamaha AVR RX-V6A up and running since november last year without any issues. 2 wired fronts (Klipsch) and a network subwoofer Musiccast 100. The AVR is connected to the TV (LG OLED B6V) via HDMI and gets the TV sound over ARC.

WEBMay 10, 2022 · A model such as Denon's AVRX2700 would be very comparable to the V6a, but comes equipped with just one HDMI version 2.1 8K compliant input. If you want more than 1 8K compliant input then look at the DEnon AVRX1700 which is technically a lower spec model, but does include 3 8K inputs.

WEBJan 16, 2022 · I know this seems to be an older thread, but I just got an rx-v6a a few days ago. I made a few tweaks yesterday and this issue popped up today. So, all I did was go into my tv audio settings and turn off auto and set it to passthrough. All kinds of good things happened after that. Hope this helps somebody.

WEBNov 2, 2020 · I never took it past -10dB. The other observation I made was relative to the unit it replaces, an Aventage RX-A550. On both units I set the default volume when the power is turned on to -40dB. On the RX-A550 this was always too low. On the TSR-700 (RX-V6A), this is often sufficient for normal TV watching.

Measurements don't tell anyone that Yamaha's build quality and QC is the highest of ALL manufacturers with the least return rate and defects; at least it was until this debacle with HDMI. I will take a Yamaha RX-V6A over an Emotiva XMC-1 any day because of the problems Emotiva had with premature failures.

Room dimensions (listening space AND any adjacent spaces that it opens up to)
